Susan Hagerty Le May

The Chairman of IAA, Susan Hagerty Le May has 25 years of international investment advisory and strategic marketing experience. Her work advising clients in Germany, Spain, Latin America, and Member Nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has made her a polyglot familiar with numerous cultures. Her experience in foreign regulatory, investment issues, local economies and politics makes her an important conduit of successful business development in challenging markets. Her working relationships with senior bankers and governors of monetary and investment authorities, central and leading commercial banks, as well as her knowledge of global capital markets, can add incremental value to clients attempting to increase their market share in targeted geographic regions. Skilled in finding appropriate global strategic partners, she possesses the political alliances and mutual interests needed to successfully complete transactions.

With diplomatic integrity and genuine leadership, she facilitates meetings and manages projects with strategic decision/policy-makers, project financiers, permitting agencies and government officials. As a consensus builder, she fosters and expands market positioning for countless entities. Her proven success has resulted in developing and capitalizing on niche opportunities in targeted markets for various organizations. Her effectiveness is increased by strong personal relationships based on mutual trust and respect that she has forged in the global market place. She is uniquely positioned to leverage resources of organizations seeking to enhance their branding and market share in strategic markets. As a seasoned executive who has developed and managed cross border transactions, she has established and trained a prominent network of point men throughout Latin America, and Member Nations of the GCC.

She also has served on the faculty of several colleges and universities and is licensed in multiple states to buy and sell real estate, insurance, private placements and business entities. She was educated at The University of California at Los Angeles and The University of Oregon, where she earned a Master of Science degree and a second M.S. equivalent, and at Stanford University, where she was immersed in cross-cultural business studies.

As an advisor to the President of the Gulf Oil Corporation on executive development, succession planning, and organizational development, she established the first assessment center for executive selection, development, and promotion. Private-sector corporations, governments, and NGOs seek her consulting expertise.

She has been a delegate at several international summits, including the World Economic Forum (Davos) and the United Nations Development Program, where she has been a speaker. She has enlisted world-class technical experts and jointly presented relevant seminars. She has published extensively on alternative investments, hedge funds, project finance, debt-for-development swaps, infrastructure and global environmental issues.

Steeped in virtually all types of investments, she is positioned to forge cross-border strategic alignments and originate and target business opportunities. For over 20 years, she has advised clients on “alternative” investments, such as hedge funds, real estate, structured products, and private equity. She has developed strategic alignments and facilitated cross border market entry positioning for several multi-billion dollar corporations. She was an executive at Lehman Brothers, where she managed and advised UHNWI and institutional clients on alternative investments including private equity, LBO Funds, and hedge funds.
